Planned Adventure Starts With Great Tires
I'd like to tell you a little story regarding your tires, and I know you'll like it, so please read on.
About a year ago, I bought a 2008 Toyota 4Runner to eventually be converted into my very own "expedition" vehicle, in which I would travel around the world and drive to the corners of the earth to enjoy how wonderful nature can be in an almost-untouched state. Of course, I have a list of all the upgrades I want to make. But all of those other great capability-improving upgrades don't matter if I can't even get the wheels to spin. So I needed tires. I decided that even though I haven't done anything else to my beautiful little SUV, I could at least start the search for the tire I'll be using. Well, upon scouring the Internet for advice, I noticed the BF Goodrich and Goodyear tires were quite popular, but that just wasn't good enough for me. I’m all for the “underdog.” So, I went down and ordered me four Cooper Discoverer STTs in 265/70R17. Yeah, they were less expensive than the competition, and they look good to boot. Well, after the past month of mud, dirt, snow, and ice. I've come to the conclusion that these are the best damn tires ever. I’ve used other tires personally and with the military. You all probably thought this was just another "Yeah, Cooper, thanks, you rock!" message. Well, it isn't.
Just a week ago I noticed that I was the lucky recipient of a large 3-inch-long nail in my right rear tire. And looking at the nail, it looks as if it’s been there for awhile. The unlucky part is that I have to order the tire, and it takes a few days. But, I'm not complaining about that. I'm complimenting the construction of the tire, because I cannot afford not to go to work (70 miles one way). This past weekend was also my drill weekend. I will not put the smaller-sized spare on my vehicle, nor will I buy another brand. The Discoverer STT has been absolutely amazing. It has lasted through mud, snow, ice, large potholes, and all with a nail between the lugs on the outer tire edge. The tire is as tough as advertised. I think I've found what I'll be using on my future expeditions around the world. I'll also recommend and advertise Cooper tires to anyone and everyone that needs tires. I also want to thank you, because the tire almost certainly literally did save my life.
So keep making awesome tires! Because I'll need quite a few more if I get around to all the trips I have planned.
